Website Details
Dress for the Prom is a styling blog edited by the owner of dressfortheprom.com, with all content and collages created by our editor except where otherwise noted. Images in collages that are from retail sources have been credited to those sources, and we have been permitted either directly or through the terms of my affiliate programs to use the images for use in the content of this blog. If you share an image, please credit it back to the post, to be in accordance with the terms of use. Dress for the Prom abides by the FTC guidelines for bloggers regarding disclosure, and fair use for imagery.
Affiliate Policy
We presently use affiliate programs on Dress for the Prom. An affiliate link means that we may receive a small percentage of a sale if an item we feature or share on social media or in a shoppable post section results in a qualified sale with the retailer.
This allows us to run this blog professionally while choosing products and selecting brands that are that we feel are a good fit for our content.
The affiliate programs we use have a significant pre-qualification process and only accept content publishers who have shown that they create relevant content related to the purpose of their blog. Unless noted in a sponsored post do not receive any money upfront from retailers for including their products, so for the most part we are not paid to feature any of the items shown unless a qualified sale is created.
Why We Use Affiliate Programs
We have several reasons for electing to use an affiliate program instead of other advertising methods to support this site. Since our content is heavily based on product imagery, the affiliate agreements we’ve signed as a part of those programs us the right to use some of the product images we feature within our content. This arrangement allows us to place contextual advertising that is a fit for our readership, and to include brands where we see fit.
All of the products we display are handpicked by our editor and featured because we genuinely appreciate the aesthetic of the item(s) and/or feel they will be a good fit for the content goal of helping our readers easily find special occasion attire.
If you feel an image or source that you own is improperly credited, please let us know by reaching out on social media or through the contact us form, and will correct the reference or remove it.
Readers should know that the use of affiliate programs is a common practice among many blogs and websites and should be disclosed by the blogger.
Sponsored Post Policy
This site also accepts a limited number of sponsored posts. We will and do occasionally accept some forms of paid advertising, sponsorship, sponsored giveaways, paid insertions, or other forms of compensation. Any post that has been sponsored or an item that has been gifted will be disclosed and marked as such with the words “sponsor” “sponsored” “partnered” or “thanks to”. In all cases– before and after the inception of sponsored posts–brands are chosen because we feel the product or brand is worth highlighting and would be of interest to our readers.
If a retail partner has compensated us before publication to write about them and given us a subject to cover, those posts will be marked as “sponsored” or “partnered” with a disclosure statement. Otherwise, we have elected to write about a product or retailer of our own choice, we are using a combination of paid (affiliate) links and unpaid natural links.
Dress for the Prom is a Non-Transactional Site
There are no financial transactions handled by the Dress for the Prom, even on the shopping pages and posts. When products are shown on this site, these are from our affiliate retailers. We do not have access to or store any data related to a transaction. When a reader clicks an affiliate link or a link in the “shop” sections of posts and pages, that reader is referred to a site out of this domain and is therefore subject to all terms and conditions of use for that retailer’s website.
No Personal Endorsement
Unless otherwise noted, we do not personally own any of the items nor have we personally inspected the items on this site for quality or other attributes. Therefore, no warranty of quality or personal endorsement besides the subjective visual appeal of the image we show is implied. We read reviews of the products we feature when available and we do our best to feature items from trustworthy brands.
This blog cannot be held liable for any purchase or defect. Any product claim, statistic, quote, or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider, or party in question. Featured products are selected because our editors deem that they suitable attire for a special occasion like prom, and we feel the product would be of interest to our readership.
Thanks for your support of Dress for the Prom!
